It’s almost time to invite you all to join us on Saturday, December 19, at the Siloam Mission in Winnipeg. Many of our compassionate patients accompany us on our three-hour visit on this day to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate. We find it’s one of the more rewarding activities of the entire holiday season.
In case you’re not familiar with this homeless shelter, here are some of the services that they provide for our less fortunate brothers and sisters:
- A clothing program that offers garments and hygiene items
- Art therapy
- Computer workshops
- Emergency shelter to provide a safe place for the night
- Employment training programs to help people re-enter the workforce
- Holistic health care, including chiropractic, dentistry, podiatry, counseling and optometry
- Recovery meetings
- Spiritual care programs
- Three meals a day, 365 days a year
Their programs and services are provided free of charge, with dignity and respect, and without discrimination.
Join Us on December 19!
We’d love to have you join us during this holiday season at the Siloam Mission. We’ll be there for about three hours and will assist wherever we’re needed. We often sort through all the contributions to the facility so that the right items get to the right people, and serve food to the residents.
