Sport Massage
This type of massage employs long, slow strokes that flush out the accumulated body's toxins and promotes general healing benefits to the recently over-worked body.
Trigger Points
This is a technique that involves applying pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. Trigger point treatment is performed in combination with traditional massage techniques.
Muscle Energy Technique
This technique is based on the principle of reciprocal inhibition, which is a theory that explains that muscles on one side of a joint will always relax to accommodate the contraction of muscles on the other side of that joint when indirect pressure is applied. Muscle energy technique is ideal for addressing imbalances and muscle spasms and is often performed in combination with traditional massage techniques.
Injury Assessment
We strive to provide the best care and also to manage these cases correctly right from the start. Injuries from sports are often complicated, requiring the utmost attention. An accurate assessment allows for the most appropriate treatment.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Deep Muscle Therapy
This is a massage technique which is designed to realign the deep muscle layers and connecting tissues in painful, stiff joints. The massage treatment can sometimes cause initial discomfort, but this usually fades within a short period.
Joint Mobilization
This technique is used to manage musculoskeletal dysfunction. Mobilizations are used to restore joint motion that has been lost due to injury. Mobilizations are used when range of motion or mobility is lacking.
Injury Rehabilitation
These treatments involve a variety of techniques. A comprehensive assessment is performed to determine specific injured structures. In addition to traditional massage techniques, hydrotherapy, active release techniques and moor mud packs are used to enhance your recovery.
